Now in India ,according to Right To Education Act2009, Right of children to free and compulsory education act has been implemented and came into force since April1,2010.Now right to education will be accorded the same legal status as the right to life as provided by Article 21A of the Indian Constitution. Each child of age above 6 years will be provided 8 years of elementary education. It's a great step taken by the Government of India.
There is much work to do before the goal of Education for All is achieved. 75 million children are not in school according to UNESCO and by 2005-2006, as many as 90 million children were without access to education. Its not a easy task but we should except the challenge then only our future generation will become bright as well as there will be no more illiterate people.
The Prime Minister Shri Manmohan Singh has emphasized that it is important for the country that if we nurture our children and young people with the right education, India’s future as a strong and prosperous country is secure.
